Terms and Conditions – Debit Cards: Air Accident and Purchase Protection Insurance

General conditions:

  • Gross Negligence is not covered
  • Any claim due to deliberate breach of law would not be payable
  • The cover is applicable only to active cards (An active card is defined as a card with one transaction / activity on any POS/e-commerce terminal in last 30 days from the date of loss/date of incidence)
  • Claim should be reported by card holder to Royal Sundaram within 30 days of the date of incidence
  • All documents must be submitted within 30 days of date of claim intimation to Royal Sundaram by Insured

Personal Accident – Air:

  • In the event of accidental death arising out of Aircraft, schedule Airlines etc. as defined under the policy the claim would be payable only if the ticket is purchased from the covered card
  • Pilots, armed forces, police, air crew are not covered
  • Claim should be reported by card holder to Royal Sundaram within 30 days of the date of incidence
  • All documents must be submitted within 30 days of date of claim intimation to Royal Sundaram by Insured

Purchase Protection:

  • Cover against Standard Fire & Allied perils and theft or accidental damage in residential premises of the cardholder
  • Cover valid for items purchased on debit cards only
  • Cover is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase
  • Jewellery and perishable items are not covered
  • Earthquake and Terrorism are not covered
  • Mysterious disappearance is not covered
  • Claim should be reported by card holder to Royal Sundaram within 30 days of the date of incidence
  • All documents must be submitted within 30 days of date of claim intimation to Royal Sundaram by Insured

Customers are advised to intimate Royal Sundaram of the claim by calling 1860 425 0000 or by sending a mail to customer.services@royalsundaram.in within 30 days of occurrence

For ‘Purchase Protection’ cover (upto INR 55,000):

Submit the duly filled in claim form (Download the form HERE) with the following documents within 30 days from intimation:
i) Card statement showing the transaction for item purchased
ii) Bills/Invoices for items purchased (Description, Quantity, Value, Nature of loss)
iii) FIR for burglary
iv) Final Police report, Non-traceable report issued by police authorities
v) Advance letter of subrogation on a Rs.100/- non-judicial stamp paper
vi) Detailed description of loss/accident in case of accidental damage along with statement from eye witness if any

For ‘Air accident’ cover (upto INR 1,00,00,000):

Submit the duly filled in claim form (Download the form HERE) with the following documents within 30 days from intimation:
i) Original Death certificate
ii) Post-mortem report
iii) First Information Report
iv) Inquest report/Panchanama Report
v) Extract of MLC/Accident Register
vi) Final report issued by Police Authorities (if sought)
vii) Chemical analysis report/viscera report (if preserved for analysis)
viii) Admission/Discharge/Death summary issued by the hospital authority
ix) Medical records pertaining to hospitalisation
x) English translation of vernacular documents
xi) Legal Heir Certificate / Succession Certificate or Alternate set of legal documents sought in the absence of nomination
xii) Any other document sought by the Company

All above documents to be mailed to Royal Sundaram with relevant Details, like;

Member name: as updated with the bank
Debit card number: please mention 16 digit card number
Royal Sundaram group Policy No: SCBSKH0002000101(for Air accident cover) or CPP0000010 (for Purchase Protection cover)
Type of claim: Air Accident / Purchase Protection
Claim recipient details: Policy Holder in case of Purchase Protection / Nominee details in case of Air Accident
