When does the cover commence and end for each trip?
Cover starts from the time you leave your home or workplace in Singapore to begin the trip abroad and ends three hours after you return to Singapore or the expiry of your travel insurance, whichever is earlier.
Who can buy Enhanced Travel Protector?
Singaporeans, Singapore Permanent Residents, Foreigners holding a valid employment pass or work permit and living in Singapore may apply so long as it is for a round trip commencing from and returning to Singapore within the period of insurance.
How do I select the Travel Region if I am travelling to more than one country?
If you are travelling to more than one country, please select the Travel Region (Area A, Area B or Area C) of your furthest destination from Singapore.

Area A: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
Area B: Australia, China (excluding Inner Mongolia and Tibet), Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Macau, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, including countries in Area A.
Area C: Worldwide including countries in Area A and Area B.
I am above 70 years old. Can I apply for Enhanced Travel Protector?
There is no age limit for application. However, if you are aged 70 years and above, you are only eligible for the Single Trip Policy.
Can I apply for Enhanced Travel Protector at the airport just before departing from Singapore?
Yes, you may apply for Enhanced Travel Protector so long as you have not boarded the plane, provided at the time of applying, you are not aware of any circumstances which are likely to lead to a claim.
Are leisure sports such as winter sport, snorkelling and trekking covered under Enhanced Travel Protector?
Yes, Enhanced Travel Protector Gold Plan and Platinum Plan cover bungee jumping, sky diving, paragliding, helicopter rides for sightseeing, hot air ballooning, jet skiing, mountaineering at mountains below the height of 3,000 metres above sea level, skiing or snowboarding all within official approved areas of a ski resort, canoeing or white water rafting with a qualified guide and below Grade 4 (of International Scale of River Difficulty), and underwater activities involving artificial breathing apparatus for diving up to a maximum depth of 30 metres with a qualified diving instructor or a qualified divemaster and with recognised diving certification. These activities must be done for leisure purposes and with a licensed operator.
When will I receive my Policy documents?
Upon successful application online, a copy of the Enhanced Travel Protector e-Policy will be sent to your email address indicated during your online application.

Before trip commences 
You can only change the commencement date if you notify MSIG Insurance prior to the commencement of your trip or Period of Insurance, whichever is sooner, subject to an administrative charge of S$10.
While overseas
Only trip extension is permissible once the trip commences. It is permitted midway during travel and within the Period of Insurance provided there are no known circumstances or events likely to lead to claim, subject to a minimum premium of S$10. You can call MSIG Assist 24-hour hotline to request for the period extension.
If I did not seek medical treatment for an injury or illness during my overseas travel, can l recover for medical expenses incurred in Singapore after my return to Singapore?
Yes, provided it is not a pre-existing condition and the injury or illness occurred during the overseas travel. Medical treatment must be sought within 72 hours after your return to Singapore and incurred within 60 days from the date you return to Singapore.
