Fighting blindness in Africa

We're reducing glaucoma-related blindness by 20%, by transforming its treatment in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Preving glaucoma in Africa

We're aiming to reduce the number of glaucoma patients becoming blind by 20% in Sub-Saharan Africa, using a new laser treatment therapy financed by our Innovation fund.

Quick fixes, lasting results

Treatment for glaucoma usually involves taking daily eye drops for life, which is expensive, logistically challenging and difficult to sustain.

So a new laser treatment called Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) will not only reduce the number of glaucoma cases in the region, but also ensure that the treatment lasts.
