E-mandate on cards for recurring payments set at Online Merchant platforms

E-mandate is a standing instruction or recurring payment instruction on a debit or credit card given by cardholder on a merchant platform like a  website or mobile application for recurring transactions e.g. E-mandate set at telecom service provider, OTT platforms, insurance partners and other utility service providers like electricity, gas, water, etc. This is in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations on Processing of E-mandate on cards for recurring transactions, as amended from time to time and effective October 1st, 2021. How can clients manage E-mandates set at Merchant platform effective October 1st, 2021?

Clients can login to Standard Chartered Bank mobile app or internet banking to manage (view/modify/cancel/approve) e-mandate/recurring payment set at merchant’s website or application for payment using their Standard Chartered Bank credit or debit Card.

Please follow below steps to Manage Recurring Payments:

  1. a) Please visit Standard Chartered Bank mobile app or internet banking.
  2. b) Log in using your username and password
  3. c) On left hand side navigation bar, click on ‘Payments’ tab> ‘Manage Recurring payments’
  4. d) Read Disclaimer and click on ‘Continue’, which will redirect to a new webpage
  5. e) Client needs to enter the card number and OTP in the webpage.
  6. f) A screen will open with all the registered e-mandate(s)

 Clients will be able to do the following in the interface:

  1. View e-mandate: View all the recurring e-mandate(s) and associated transaction(s) made with your Standard Chartered Bank credit and debit card.
  2. Modify e-mandate: Modify limit for e-mandate with variable value or validity period of e-mandate set on your Standard Chartered Bank credit and debit card.
  3. Cancel e-mandate: Cancel e-mandate set-up on your Standard Chartered Bank credit and debit card.
  4. Approve e-mandate: Approve upcoming invoice for e-mandate set-up on your Standard Chartered Bank credit and debit card.
