Meet the author

Jasmine was appointed the first international chief executive officer of Save the Children in 2010, after serving as chief executive of Save the Children UK from 2005, and stepped down from the post in December 2015. Before joining organisation, she spent six years with Oxfam, first as regional director in West Africa, and then as international director responsible for Oxfam's programmes worldwide. Prior to this, Jasmine was managing director of a Thomson Financial business, based in the US. She holds a BA in English and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of Bristol, and completed the Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Jasmine is also a non-executive director of BT Group Plc and Standard Chartered Plc.
