Credit Cards SingSaver Sign-Up Promotion (4 October to 31 December 2017) Terms and Conditions

  1. This Credit Cards SingSaver Sign-Up Promotion (the “Promotion”) is available from 4 October to 31 December 2017 (both dates inclusive) (the “Promotion Period“), unless otherwise extended or otherwise terminated in accordance with these terms and conditions. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.


  1. To qualify for this Promotion and receive the Sign-Up Gift(s) available as set out in Clause 3 below:-
    1. you must apply for at least one (1) of the following eligible cards (each an “Eligible Card”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Standard Chartered” or the “Bank”) as a principal cardholder (“Cardholder”):
      1. Spree Credit Card;
      2. Unlimited Cashback Credit Card;
    2. your application has to be via the SingSaver online channel which, for the avoidance of doubt, is via the website singsaver.com.sg (“SingSaver Channel”);
    3. you must be a new Standard Chartered principal cardholder. In other words, you must not have any existing or previously cancelled credit cards in the last 12 months;
    4. Standard Chartered must receive your application for the Eligible Card within the Promotion Period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Standard Chartered may continue to process any application received by Standard Chartered up to 14 calendar days after the end of the Promotion Period, and Standard Chartered shall retain the sole and absolute discretion to determine the eligibility of these applications and/or allow the said applications for the purposes of this Promotion on a case-to-case basis, subject to these terms and conditions;
    5. your Eligible Card application must be approved by Standard Chartered, where such approval is final and unconditional;
    6. you must activate the Eligible Card within 30 days from the card approval date; and
    7. the Eligible Card account must, within six (6) months of the Eligible Card account opening date, be valid (i.e. the Eligible Card account must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by Standard Chartered in its sole and absolute discretion.
  2. Subject to these terms, if you satisfy all the eligibility criteria set out in Clause 2 above, you will be eligible to receive the $150 Grab Promo Codes (the “Sign-Up GiftorCredit Card Grab Promo Codes”):
  3. If you:
    1. have an existing principal credit card with the Bank at the point of your application for the Eligible Card or previously cancelled credit card(s) with the Bank in the last 12 months from the date the Eligible Card is approved; an
    2. satisfy the eligibility criteria set out in all of Clauses 2(a), (b), (d), (e), (f) and (g) above,

you will be eligible to receive the S$20 cashback for each Eligible Card approved under the Promotion, subject to the Cashback Cap.

The maximum amount of cashback that you may receive for this Promotion is capped at S$138. This Cashback Cap will include any cashback received under any and all other credit card sign-up promotions with the Bank. This Cashback Cap does not include any vouchers / stored value cards / credits / any other sign-up gifts which are not in the form of cashback which may be received under any other earlier credit card sign-up promotions. You will not be entitled to any further cashback under this Promotion if you have already reached the relevant cap on cashback under any earlier credit card sign-up promotions, as determined by the Bank in its sole discretion, notwithstanding that such earlier cap on cashback under the earlier credit card sign-up promotions may be lesser or greater than S$138.

  1. Only applications for the Eligible Card received by the Bank via SingSaver Channel will be eligible for this Promotion. For the avoidance of doubt:
    1. this means that only Cardholders who have applied for a card at SingSaver Channel who successfully submit the application for the Eligible Card will be eligible for the Promotion (subject always to Clause 2 or Clause 4); and
    2. if you have received the Eligible Card in conjunction with your application for a CashOne / Credit Card Instalment Loan or a Mortgage Loan under the Home Suite Bundle, you will not be eligible for the Sign-Up Gift or cashback under this Promotion.

Fulfilment mechanics

  1. The cashback you are entitled to receive under this Promotion will be credited to your principal Eligible Card account within 30 working days of the date of activation of your Eligible Card, subject to the Eligible Card being valid and in good standing. The cashback awarded under this Promotion must be utilised within six (6) months from the date of activation of your Eligible Card, failing which, any unused portion of the cashback may be forfeited. Transfer of cashback to another credit card account or withdrawal of cashback in the form of Cashier’s Order or any other means shall not be permitted.
  2. If you are eligible for the Credit Card Grab Promo Codes pursuant to Clause 3 above, the redemption process is as follows: The Credit Card Grab Promo Codes will be issued to you in the form of 15 promo codes which entitles you to 15 complimentary Grab rides worth S$10 each. To redeem the Credit Card Grab Promo Codes, you must perform the following:
    1. install the Grab Mobile App on your phone;
    2. set up the Eligible Card as the default card for payment in the Grab Mobile App; and
    3. enter the specific promo code which the Bank will provide pursuant in Clause 7(i) below on the “Promotions” tab in the Grab App.
      1. The promo code for the Credit Card Grab Promo Codes you are entitled to receive under this Promotion will be sent through a unique URL sent via SMS within 60 working days of the date of activation of your Eligible Card on your registered mobile number with the Bank. You are required to enter the promo code in the Grab Mobile App and pay the Grab ride using the Eligible Card to claim the Credit Card Grab Promo Codes.
      2. The Grab Mobile App can recognise only one promo code at any one time. Any new promo code you enter will override and render any existing code in the Grab Mobile App void.
      3. If the tariff on 1 ride is more than S$10, then your Eligible Card will be charged with the excess amount. If the tariff on 1 ride is less than S$10, then you will forfeit the balance amount on that promo code.
      4. You can use the Credit Card Grab Promo Codes for GrabCar, GrabTaxi or GrabShare as found in the Grab Mobile App.
      5. You are eligible for exactly 15 complimentary rides worth S$10 each in Singapore. Any excess usage of the promo code will be charged to the Eligible Card.
      6. The 15 complimentary rides must be utilised within 4 weeks from the date the promo code was issued to you.
      7. If the promo code is utilised by any cardholder of the Bank on the Grab Mobile App in conjunction with a card other than the Eligible Card, the Bank reserves the right to charge the utilised cost of the ride taken via the promo code to that said card.
      8. By participating in this Promotion, you consent to Grab using, storing and transferring your personal data to the Bank for the purposes of this Promotion.
      9. Any dispute relating to or arising from the use of the Grab Mobile App and Credit Card Grab Promo Codes must be resolved directly with the relevant party (and not with the Bank).
  1. In consideration of you participating in this Promotion and receiving any Credit Card Grab Promo Codes, the Bank reserves the right not to grant any waiver of the first-year annual fee for the Eligible Card account, if you fail to charge a minimum of three (3) eligible retail transactions to the Eligible Card account within 60 days from the Eligible Card approval date. For the purposes of this Clause 8, the following transactions are not considered “eligible retail transactions”:
    1. balance transfers to the Eligible Card, cash advances from the Eligible Card, purchases via NETS and ongoing instalment payments;
    2. any fees and charges (including annual fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges) charged to the Eligible Card;
    3. any amount charged to the Eligible Card that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed; and
    4. any payment for balance owing on the Eligible Card account from previous and/or other months.


  1. Unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions.
  2. The Credit Card Grab Promo Codes referred to in Clause 3 and the cashback referred to in Clause 4 (the “Gifts”) are not exchangeable for cash or any other items, and are non-transferable and non-assignable.
  3. If the Bank at any time determines (at its sole and absolute discretion) that any of the eligibility requirements set out in Clauses 2 or 4 above was not or has not been complied with but any Gift has been redeemed by you, the Bank reserves the right to recover any / all Gifts or the value of any / all Gifts from you.
  4. Standard Chartered reserves the right to do any of the following without prior notice:
    1. terminate, withdraw, shorten or extend this Promotion at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason; and/or
    2. vary, modify, add or delete any of the terms of the Promotion.

You agree and consent to be bound by any such variation.

  1. These Credit Cards SingSaver Sign-Up (4 October to 31 December 2017) Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms, Credit Card Terms and any other specific Product Terms that may be relevant in connection with this Promotion (“Other Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  2. Standard Chartered is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any transaction by any party, including acquiring merchants, merchant establishments or any telecommunication provider.
  3. Standard Chartered makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the goods and services bought and accepts no liability for the services provided by any merchant or service provider. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the merchant or service provider.
  4. Standard Chartered is not an agent of any merchant, service provider, Singapore Post Limited, CapitaLand Limited or vice versa.
  5. Standard Chartered reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, including your eligibility for this Promotion and/or to receive cashback under this Promotion. Standard Chartered’s determination of all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.
  6. By applying for an Eligible Card pursuant to this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of your telephone number to contact you about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or multimedia messaging. Such consent will supersede any prior choices made by you. Such consent will also prevail even if you are registered or subsequently register your contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry.
  7. A person who is not a party to the Credit Cards SingSaver Sign-Up (4 October to 31 December 2017) Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  8. These Credit Cards SingSaver Sign-Up (4 October to 31 December 2017) Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
