The Cashback Island 2022 Promotion (“Promotion”) is available from 18 August 2022 to 15 October 2022 (both dates inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”). The Promotion is open to all principal cardholders of credit cards issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Bank”) (each a “Card”). Each principal cardholder of a Card shall be referred to as an “Eligible Cardholder”. The Promotion comprises the following of Travel Voyage Promotion (“Travel Voyage Promotion”) and Reel & Win Promotion (“Reel & Win Promotion”). To participate in the Promotion, an Eligible Cardholder must be a registered and valid user of the Standard Chartered Mobile Banking App (“SC Mobile App”) and have enabled the option to receive push notifications (which is a service provided by Apple and Google for their respective mobile operating systems i.e. iOS and Android respectively, through which an iOS or Android mobile app can send a user (who has installed such mobile app) a notification) (“Push Notification”) from the Bank on his/her mobile phone via the SC Mobile App (Banking and Marketing alerts), with the Push Notification summarising the details of the Promotion (“Promotion Invitation”). For the avoidance of doubt, the Promotion Invitation will only be broadcasted from 18 August 2022 onwards, and the frequency of such broadcast will be at the Bank’s determination. Upon clicking on the ‘Register Now’ button in the Promotion Invitation, all of the Eligible Cardholder’s validly existing Card(s) (i.e. not suspended, cancelled and/or terminated) which are in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner, as determined by the Bank, will be registered for the Promotion (such successfully registered card(s) hereinafter referred to as a “Registered Card” and the cardholder of such Registered Card, a “Registered Cardholder”) immediately. The Bank may vary, modify, add, delete or otherwise revise any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions or modify, terminate, withdraw, extend, suspend or shorten the Promotion at any time at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reasons).
      • For purposes of the Travel Voyage Promotion, “Eligible Travel Transactions” are retail transactions made to all merchants that have their main business activity classified as Travel. This includes all transactions classified under Merchant Category Code (“MCC”):
        • MCC 300-3350 & 4511 – Airline
        • MCC 3351-3441 & 7512 – Car Rental Agencies
        • MCC 3501-3836 & 7011 – Hotels, Motels, Resorts
        • MCC 3837-4112 – Passenger Railways
        • MCC 4411-4457 – Steamship and Cruise Lines
        • MCC 4722 & 4723 – Travel Agencies and Tour Operators
        • MCC 7991 – Tourist Attractions and Exhibits such as Botanical Gardens, Craft Shows, Museums, and Wineries
        Please note that the main business activity of a merchant is determined by the business classification of that merchant outlet which in turn is determined by the merchant/ the merchant’s acquiring bank. To qualify for the Travel Voyage Promotion, Registered Cardholders must, during the Promotion Period, meet the minimum spend amount of S$500 in Eligible Travel Transaction(s), aggregated across his/her Registered Card(s) throughout the Promotion Period (“Minimum Spend”). For the avoidance of doubt, the Eligible Travel Transaction(s) must have a transaction date falling within the Promotion Period and is/are not an Excluded Transaction(s) (as set out in Clause 35 of the Cashback Island 2022 Promotion). If a Registered Cardholder satisfies the conditions above, and is one of the first 2,000 Registered Cardholders to meet the Minimum Spend, based on transaction date of the Eligible Travel Transaction(s), then he/she will be entitled to a 2% cashback on their Eligible Travel Transactions (“Travel Cashback”). For the avoidance of doubt, the Registered Cardholder will receive a maximum of $10 in Travel Cashback for every block(s) of S$500 spent in Eligible Travel Transactions. The maximum amount of Travel Cashback that can be awarded to each Registered Cardholder is capped at S$80. Travel Cashback will be credited to the relevant Registered Cardholders’ Registered Card account by 31 December 2022. A Push Notification will be sent to notify Registered Cardholders of their spends progress for the Travel Voyage Promotion every Friday during the Promotion Period (“Spends Tracker Push Notification”). For the avoidance of doubt, the spends information found in a Spends Tracker Push Notification is estimated based on authorised transactions made for Eligible Travel Transactions and the final amount (“Spend Amount”) may change if there are reversals or refunds made on the Registered Card. The Bank shall not be responsible for notifying a Registered Cardholder if the Spend Amount is different than as communicated in a Spends Tracker Push Notification.
      • To qualify for the Reel & Win Promotion, Registered Cardholders must charge a single eligible retail transaction to a Registered Card that: (a) is of an amount above S$200, (b) has a transaction date falling within the Promotion Period, (c) has been successfully posted to a Registered Card by 31 December 2022; and (d) is not an Excluded Transaction (as set out in Clause 35 of the Cashback Island 2022 Promotion); each single retail transaction charged by a Registered Cardholder that fulfils the above shall hereinafter referred to as a “Reel & Win Qualifying Transaction”). The first 70,000 Reel & Win Qualifying Transactions successfully charged to the respective Registered Cards will be a “Winning Transaction” (subject to Clause 21 of the Cashback Island 2022 Promotion), and entitle the Registered Cardholders who has made Winning Transactions to receive a Push Notification through the SC Mobile App informing the Registered Cardholder of the cashback amount that he/she is eligible for (“Reel & Win Push Notification”). Each Registered Cardholder is eligible for one (1) Reel & Win Push Notification for every Winning Transaction made, subject to each Registered Cardholder receiving a maximum of two (2) Reel & Win Push Notification per day. The Registered Cardholder of each Winning Transaction (“Winning Cardholder”) will win one of the following prizes: (a) S$2 cashback; or (b) S$3 cashback; or (c) S$5 cashback (each a “Prize” and collectively, “Prizes”). The Prizes allocated to the Registered Cardholders will be randomly chosen by our computer programme designed specifically for the purpose of the Promotion at a designated office of the Bank. In addition to the Prize, a Winning Cardholder will receive an additional $5 cashback (“Online Tier-up Cashback”) for each Winning Transaction, if the Reel & Win Qualifying Transaction was made through the Internet and processed by the respective merchants/acquirers as an online transaction through Visa Worldwide and MasterCard networks (“Online Retail Transaction”). For the avoidance of doubt, contactless payments will not be considered as an Online Retail Transaction. The Online Tier-up Cashback is limited to the first 30,000 Reel & Win Qualifying Transaction that is an Online Retail Transaction and is capped at one (1) Online Tier-up Cashback per day per Winning Cardholder. All Prize and Online Tier-up Cashback will be credited to the relevant Winning Cardholders’ Registered Card account by 31 December 2022.

      Excluded Transactions

      • Insurance premiums, including premiums for investment-linked policies;
      • Any transactions or bill payments to telecommunications and utilities providers including but not limited to Starhub, Singtel, M1, and Singapore Power;
      • Any payment via AXS network;
      • Any payment via SAM network;
      • Payments to government agencies which include but are not limited to Land Transport Authority, Housing Development Board, Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, Public Utilities Board, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and the Ministry of Manpower;
      • Income tax payments;
      • Any bill payment made using the SC EasyBill bill payment programme;
      • Any top-ups or payment of funds to any prepaid cards (with the exception of EZ-Reload), prepaid accounts, digital wallets including but not limited to Grab, Singtel Dash, WorldRemit Singapore, YouTrip or any other accounts as the Bank may specify from time to time
      • Any top-ups or payment of funds which are classified under Merchant Category Codes 6012 (Financial Institutions – Merchandise, Services, and Debt Repayment) and/or 6540 (or Non-Financial Institutions – Stored Value Card Purchase/Load);
      • EZ-Link cards transactions;
      • TransitLink transactions;
      • Any transactions pertaining to Merchant Category Codes 6211 (Security Brokers/Dealers), 7995 (Gambling/Lotto) and 6051 (Non-Financial Institutions – Foreign Currency, Non-Fiat Currency (for example: Cryptocurrency), Travelers Cheques, and Debt Repayment);
      • Balance transfers (or funds transfers), instalment loans and cash advances (including AnytimeCash), purchases via NETS and ongoing instalment payments (including EasyPay);
      • Any fees and charges (including annual fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges) charged to any of the Bank issued credit cards of the Registered Cardholder;
      • Any amount charged to the any of the Bank issued credit cards of the Registered Cardholder during the Promotion Period that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed; and
      • Balance owing on the Registered Cardholder’s credit card accounts from other months.
