1.These notes apply to Purchases with Rewards (“PWR”) which is part of the Cardholders’ Bonus Points (“Points”) redemptions via electronic channel service provided by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Bank” or “we” or “Standard Chartered”) and subject to the terms and conditions for Points redemption. 2.PWR is only applicable to cardholders (“Cardholders”) of selected Standard Chartered credit card and its co-branded card (“Eligible Card”) issued and as may be determined by the Bank and under the relevant bonus point scheme. It is not applicable to cardholders of Corporate/Business Card.
3.PWR is available for making Eligible Transactions with an Eligible Card. “Eligible Transactions” include designated local retail purchases and online purchases settled in Hong Kong Dollars. Other transactions are NOT eligible for PWR, including but not limited to Octopus Automatic Add-Value amount, cash advances, insurance payment, utilities bill, auto payment, bill payment transactions made through Standard Chartered Bank Online Banking, Standard Chartered Bank Phone Banking or JET Payment Service, any money/electronic money transfer (including but not limited to person to person (P2P) payment services or mobile device/app/electronic funds transfer platform), handling fee, annual fee, past due charges, over limit charges, interest/finance charges, balance transfer amount, “Credit Cash” amount, Instalment Credit amount, Credit-to-Cash amount, casino chip exchange, transactions made at merchants in the gambling and betting, security brokers or dealers, non-financial institutions (including but not limited to the purchase of foreign currency, money orders and travellers cheques), financial institutions (including but not limited to the purchase of merchandise and services from banks, savings and loans, thrifts and credit unions and face-to-face cash disbursement), wire transfer money orders and wholesale purchase of precious stones and metals, watches and jewellery, according to the merchant codes issued by Visa International and Mastercard Asia/Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited/American Express/UnionPay from time-to-time, tax payment, billed monthly instalment of Interest-free Instalment Plan, any respective handling fee and repayment amount of Statement Instalment Plan and “Anything Goes Instalment” Program, billed monthly instalment of Tax Instalment Program and any unauthorised transaction. Any unposted/cancelled/refunded/falsified transactions are also excluded.
4.Transactions made by the Principal and Supplementary Cardholders of the same credit card account will be counted and accumulated collectively. In respect of an account with both principal and supplementary cardholders, only the principal cardholder with a valid Hong Kong mobile phone number registered with the Bank may enjoy PWR and redeem available Points on that account. All Points and benefits accrued by the principal and supplementary cardholder under such account will be given to the principal cardholder and will be based on the Bank’s record at the time of the redemption which shall be final and conclusive.
5.Cardholder is required to use the available Points under the Cardholder’s account(s) to redeem the value of an Eligible Transaction in full as specified in the SMS. In case the available Points are insufficient for the redemption of the Eligible Transaction in full amount, the Bank will proceed with partial redemption and the Cardholder will be responsible for settling the balance of the amount of the Eligible Transaction. The Bank has the sole and absolute discretion to determine the calculation and adjustment of the Points redemptions.
6.PWR is only applicable to Eligible Transactions for which a Cardholder receives an SMS. It is not transferable, and only applicable to the corresponding transaction.
7.An SMS will be sent according to the principal cardholder’s valid Hong Kong mobile phone number registered with the Bank upon making an Eligible Transaction with an Eligible Card by either the principal or supplementary cardholder of the same credit card account at the Bank’s sole discretion and determination. Upon receiving the SMS, the Cardholder is required to reply to the SMS with the correct key. Otherwise, the Cardholder will not be able to enjoy PWR. If Cardholder have chosen not to receive any marketing communications from the Bank on our latest promotional offers, the Cardholder will not receive the SMS and enjoy PWR. If Cardholders intend to enjoy PWR in future, please call our customer service hotline at 2886-4111 to update the information in our banking system.
8.PWR is only open for acceptance before its expiry as specified in the SMS.
9.Cardholders who have accepted the Points redemptions via PWR will receive an SMS confirming the transaction amount and redemption status upon successful redemption.
10.PWR is subject to the Cardholder’s mobile phone service provider ability to support the service, and the relevant terms and charges of such service provider.
11.PWR is based on a conversion rate as specified by the Bank. The conversion rate varies by Eligible Card types and transaction amount. The Bank may adjust the calculation or accrual of Points as we reasonably deem fit without giving Cardholder prior notice or reason. In case of discrepancy between the Bank’s records and details recorded on the credit card sales slips, the Bank’s records shall prevail.
12.Fraud or abuse of the redemption may result in the forfeiture of the accrued Points, cancellation of the Eligible Card concerned as well as liability on all losses and damages which we may incur in that connection.
13.The Bank reserves the right to: (A) vary, modify or amend these notes (including adding or deleting any of these notes); (B) change the conversion rates; (C) withhold or cease the redemption of Points to you; and (D) terminate Points redemptions via PWR at any time without prior notice provided that such rights are not exercised manifestly improperly.
14.Upon confirmation of a successful redemption, the redemption record will be shown in the Cardholder’s principal card account as a statement credit in the principal Cardholder’s statement to be issued next following the redemption.
15.The relevant Eligible Card account must be valid, non-delinquent and in good financial standing at the time of the Points is redeemed.
16.Once a redemption request is made under PWR, no cancellation of the redemption will be allowed. If Cardholder cancels the Eligible Transaction, any associated statement credit will remain on the Cardholder’s card account and Points will not be returned.
17.Unless otherwise stated, all redemptions of Cardholders’ Points for the full or partial amount of the Eligible Transaction made exclude service charges and applicable taxes.
18.Cardholders shall receive notices and communications under PWR by electronic means including by email, SMS or Online Banking inbox (if applicable); you further accept and acknowledge that any such notices and communications received by you pertaining to your Points balance enquiry may not be encrypted and may contain personal information and information pertaining to your linked accounts, and we shall not be responsible or liable to you for any possible release, loss or interception of such personal information and/or information.
19.The Bank do not guarantee the delivery, accuracy, or security of the contents of any SMS sent by the Bank to Cardholders at all times. Cardholders must promptly update the Bank of any change of mobile phone number registered with us and that there may be suspension of services of PWR due to, for example, system maintenance. The Bank shall not be liable to any Cardholder or anyone else for any losses or damages arising from the service of PWR, including but not limited to, (a) non-delivery, delayed delivery, wrong delivery or partial delivery of any SMS; or (b) inaccurate contents of any SMS; or (c) full or partial delivery of any SMS to any unintended recipients.

21.In addition to the disclaimers and your liability stated in our Client Terms (as found in the link above):
a)We do not represent or warrant that the Points redemption via PWR will be accessible at all times, or function with any electronic equipment, software, infrastructure or other electronic banking services that we may offer from time to time.
b)Unless a law prohibits us from excluding or limiting our liability, we are not liable for any loss you incur in connection with the use or attempted use of the Points redemption via PWR, or Cardholders’ instructions, or any unauthorised transactions through or in connection with the Points redemption via PWR.
22.In case of dispute, the Bank‘s decision made at the Bank’s sole discretion shall be full and final.
23.If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Chinese versions of these notes, the English version shall prevail.
