A. General Terms and Conditions

  1. The promotion period is from 1 May 2018 to 31 August 2018, both days inclusive, (the "Promotion Period").
  2. Offers under the promotion are available to successful applicants of Home Contents Insurance Plan of MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong) Limited ("MSIG"), whose relevant enrollment is made on MSIG's website accessed through the website of Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank") during the Promotion Period ("Eligible Customer").
  3. Subject to the fulfillment of relevant requirement, Eligible Customer may be entitled to a 15% premium discount ("Premium Discount") for the first policy year of the Home Contents Insurance Plan.
  4. Gross floor area should be used as a basis for Home Contents Insurance Plan. If the insured property is a first-hand residential property regulated by the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance which came into effect on 29 April 2013, while the customer cannot provide the gross floor area of the insured property, please contact MSIG on premium details.
  5. Customer who held Home Contents Insurance Plan under the same insured address in the past 3 months (calculated from the date of application), will not be eligible for the promotion offers. The date appearing in MSIG’s records will be conclusive as to the date on which the appliction/policy of the relevant insurance product was filed, withdrawn or cancelled.
  6. The offers are not exchangeable for cash.
  7. These terms and conditions are related to the promotional offers only and no reference has been made to any MSIG insurance policy ("Policy") or any coverage or content thereunder. Customers are advised to read and understand the Policy before applying for the relevant insurance.
  8. Customers understand and accept that the Bank is not the supplier of the products/ services directly purchased by the customers from the merchant / insurer. The Bank shall bear no liability relating to any aspect of the products/services, including without limitation, their quality, the supply, the descriptions of goods and/or services provided by the merchant / insurer, any false trade description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection with the products/services provided by the merchant / insurer, its employees, officers or agents other than the Bank.
  9. Customers understand and accept that the Bank is not the supplier of the gifts offered in this promotion. The Bank shall bear no liability relating to any aspect of the gifts, including without limitation, their quality, the supply, the descriptions of the gifts provided by the supplier, any false trade description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection with the gifts provided by the supplier, its employees, officers or agents. The use of the gifts is subject to the terms and conditions as stipulated by the supplier (if applicable).
  10. The Bank reserves the right to alter or terminate the promotional offers and/or amend the terms and conditions at any time without notice.
  11. All matters or disputes in relation to the promotional offers and the interpretation of terms and conditions herein shall be subject to the decision of the Bank, which shall be final and binding.
  12. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions of these terms and conditions and any details of the promotional offers, the English version shall prevail.

B. Terms and Conditions of the Small Flower Dishes

  1. Home Contents Insurance Plan must be applied for within the Promotional Period. A Set of 2 Small Flower Dishes (Worth HK$468) will be offered to each policy successfully enrolled on or before 31 August 2018.
  2. Customers who have enjoyed promotional offers in respect of the same insured property are not entitled to this Offer.
  3. A redemption letter for the Small Flower Dishes will be mailed to the policyholder(s)’s*^ last known correspondence address in MSIG's record in 1 batch as below table. The relevant policy must remain in force when the redemption letter is mailed out. The redemption letter for the Small Flower Dishes will not be replaced if lost or damaged.

    Redemption details, including the redemption method, redemption centre address, and redemption deadline will be set out in the redemption letter.

  5. The Small Flower Dishes are provided by Le Creuset Hong Kong (“Le Creuset”) and must be redeemed within 2 months of redemption letter issue date. Neither the bank nor MSIG shall have any obligations or liabilities whatsoever in relation to the goods and/or service(s) provided by Le Creuset.
  6. All product information, prices, and photos shown are for reference only. The suppliers’ information shall prevail. All product and brand names are trademarks or registered trademarks belonging to the respective product manufacturers or company holders.
  7. Both the bank and MSIG makes no representation or guarantee as to the quality and availability of the products, services, or information provided by the suppliers. The bank and MSIG shall not be liable for any matters arising from or in connection with the products, services, or information provided by the suppliers. Customers should direct any queries or complaints to the relevant supplier.

*The policyholder and the applicant must be the same person.

^The applicant means a person who submits an application. For internet application, it means the person specified under “Applicant’s Details” section of the online application form. For application through the phone, it means the person who dials in for completing the application.

Remarks

Remarks:

  1. The excess is HK$1,000 for each claim arising from household removal; HK$500 for each claim arising from water damage; HK$10,000 or 10% of the loss (whichever is greater) for each claim arising from landslip or subsidence and HK$200 for each claim arising from worldwide all-risks. The excess for all other claims is HK$200.
  2. The premises to be insured must be the Proposer and their family's principal place of residence located in the HKSAR.
  3. The premises or buildings to be insured must be less than 30 years of age and not a village house or similar.
  4. The premises or buildings to be insured must be for residential use. No industrial or commercial buildings will be covered.
  5. Proposers and their families must comply with all statutory obligations and take reasonable steps to prevent loss or damage; to maintain any premises to be insured in good condition and sound repair; and to fulfill the requirement of the deed of mutual covenant, any other relevant regulation or statutory instruments relating to the premises or buildings to be insured.
  6. Walls, flooring, doors with frames, windows with frames and the ceiling and their improvements and betterments made by Proposers within the premises to be insured are covered under the Building Section of Fire Insurance and are not protected under this Plan.

Major Exclusions

  1. Scratching, denting, rust, corrosion, wear and tear or depreciation
  2. Rot, fungus, woodworm, beetle, moth, insects or vermin
  3. Mechanical or electrical fault or breakdown
  4. Any process of cleaning, dyeing, renovation, re-styling, repairing or restoring
  5. Any other gradually operating cause
  6. Consequential loss or damage of any kind of description
  7. Infidelity or dishonesty on the part of you, your family or any of your employees
  8. Landslip or subsidence
  9. Shrinkage, evaporation, loss of weight, contamination, change in flavour, colour, texture of finish, action of light

In respect of an eligible dispute arising between Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited and the customer out of the selling process or processing of the related transaction, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited is required to enter into a Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme process with the customer; however any dispute over the contractual terms of the product should be resolved between directly MSIG and the customer.
