All-Risk Insurance Total Benefits

  • Cover for personal valuables and effects against any accidental loss or damage happening anywhere in the world, which includes:

  1. The excess is HK$1,000 for each claim arising from household removal and HK$10,000 or 10% of the loss (whichever is greater) for each claim arising from landslip or subsidence. The excess for all other claims is HK$250.
  2. Burglary / robbery harm allowance covers Proposer and his/her spouse only.
  3. The premises to be insured must be the Proposer and their family's principal place of residence located in the HKSAR.
  4. The premises or buildings to be insured must be less than 30 years of age and not a village house or similar.
  5. The premises or buildings to be insured must be for residential use. No industrial or commercial buildings will be covered.
  6. Proposers and their families must comply with all statutory obligations and take reasonable steps to prevent loss or damage; to maintain any premises to be insured in good condition and sound repair, and to fulfill the requirement of the deed of mutual covenant, any other relevant regulations or statutory instruments relating to the premises or buildings to be insured.
  7. Walls, floorings, doors with frames, windows with frames and the ceiling and their improvements and betterments made by Proposers within the premises to be insured are covered under the Building Section of Fire Insurance and are not protected under this Plan.

Major Exclusions

  • Radioactive contamination, chemical, biological, biochemical and electromagnetic weapons
  • War and terrorism risks
  • Political risks
  • Mutiny, martial law
  • Consequential loss or damage of any kind unless specifically provided for otherwise in the Policy:
    • DAMAGE: to any computer or other equipment or component or system or items which processes, stores, transmits, or retrieves data or any part thereof including loss or corruption of data whether tangible or intangible (including but not limited to any information or programs or software) and whether the property of the insured or not, where such DAMAGE is caused by virus (programming or operating error) or similar mechanism or hacking.
    • CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS: directly or indirectly caused by or arising from virus (programming or operator error) or similar mechanism or hacking.

Home Protection Insurance is underwritten by MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong Limited) ("MSIG") which is a general insurer authorized and regulated by the Commissioner of Insurance of the HKSAR. Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited ("SCBHK") is an insurance agent appointed by MSIG. To the extent permissible by law, SCBHK shall not be liable to any person for the use of any of the above information.

In respect of an eligible dispute arising between SCBHK and the customer out of the selling process or processing of the related transaction, SCBHK is required to enter into a Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme process with the customer; however any dispute over the contractual terms of the product should be resolved between directly MSIG and the customer.
