QR Cash FAQs

  • The Standard Chartered QR Cash is a service for Automatic Teller Machine (“ATM”) cash withdrawal using SC Mobile App. It is a cardless withdrawal experience by scanning the QR Code on ATM.

  • SC Keyboard comes with the latest SC Mobile and you do not need to download a separate mobile app. Please follow below steps for Android smartphones.

    1. Tap Settings in main menu
    2. Tap Languages & input.
    3. Tap the Manage keyboards option.
    4. There is an entry called SC Keyboard (English) – SC Mobile if you have installed the latest version of SC Mobile. Tap this entry.
    5. There will be a prompt to confirm you in granting full access. Tap “Allow” to accept the request. For details on what information will be accessed by SC Keyboard, please click here for more details.
    6. Now, the SC Keyboard has been enabled. You can use it in any mobile app by switching to this keyboard.

  • Once you have set up SC Keyboard and configured it as the default keyboard on your device, you can use SC Keyboard’s Keyboard Functionality in any application on your device that supports the use of a keyboard.

    To send money and view balances from SC Keyboard, you will need to have below enabled in SC Mobile:

  • This is a part of the Android operating system warning appears as when you enable a third party keyboard. You have to accept this in order to use the full function of SC Keyboard.

    SC Keyboard will only transmit data as it pertains to keyboard banking features such as checking balances and making payments. This will be protected by the same bank level security as in your SC Mobile app.

    For normal keyboard use, we do not collect, process, store or transmit any keystrokes or personal data (such as passwords, credit card numbers, street address).

    To enjoy the SC Keyboard features, you need to grant access to SC Keyboard.

  • SC Pay offers a convenient platform for real-time interbank transfers and person-to-person (P2P) payments under the Faster Payment System (FPS). All you need is a mobile number, email address or FPS Identifier.

  • Sorry, you cannot change your FPS settings in SC Keyboard. However, you can login to SC Mobile, select “Settings” -> “SC Pay Setting” from the left-hand menu to enter SC Pay Settings page to check your SC Pay transfer limit and which of your accounts is linked to FPS for sending and receiving of money.

  • When using any application that requires keyboard input, you can tap the input box to bring up the keyboard.

    On the keyboard, you will see the Standard Chartered logo on the top left corner. Tap the logo to see the available Banking Services.

    1. By tapping ‘SC Pay’; you will be required to authenticate yourself using fingerprint recognition.
    2. You can select a payee from among your phone contacts, or you can input a phone number, email address, or FPS Identifier.
    3. Next, you should select which bank your selected payee has registered with, either using the default bank or choosing from a list.
    4. You can enter a payment amount and may enter a description for the payment if you wish. You should then confirm the transaction details and the money will be transferred to your payee’s account.

    You can adjust the daily transfer limit via SC Mobile under Transfer > SC Pay (FPS) and choose settings icon.

    For example, if your daily transfer limit is set as HK$3,000 and you have already sent a friend HK$100 today, your remaining transfer limit will be HK$2,900.

If you are not sure which bank the payee is registered with, you are recommended to select the default bank and the money will be sent to his/her default receiving bank account.

Alipay®HK FAQs

  • AlipayHK account can be added through Standard Chartered Online Banking only.

    Simply log in sc.com/hk -> select “Mobile Wallets” in left hand menu -> “Alipay HK” -> “Add a new Alipay Account”
    Fill in particulars and accept the Terms & Conditions
    Enter “Transaction Password”
    Enter “One-time Password”
    Click “Confirm” for submission and wait for the SMS confirmation from Standard Chartered HK

    • Single name Current Account or Saving Account (HKD)
    • Integrated Deposits Account (HKD)
    • Joint name (either-one-to-sign) Current Account or Saving Account(HKD)
    • Any Standard Chartered VISA, Mastercard or UnionPay Credit Cards (HKD)
    • Any MANHATTAN VISA or Mastercard (HKD)

    *Standard Chartered Corporate Card is not applicable.

  • Clients can update the online banking daily transfer limits via SC Online Banking or download and complete the “Tele-electronic Banking Services – Online Banking Daily Transfer Limits Update Form”, then return it to any of our branches or by free mail service (facsimile copy is not accepted). The request will be processed within 3 working days upon receipt and confirmation.

  • 1. No handling fee will be charged for adding Alipay®HK Account
    2. No handling fee will be charged for topping up Alipay®HK Account by Standard Chartered bank accounts / credit card accounts except specify in point c below.
    3. For Alipay®HK Account top up by Standard Chartered / MANHATTAN Credit Card(s), the maximum transfer amount in a month is HK$25,000 per Cardholder, according to the Cardholder’s Hong Kong Identity Card Number or Passport Number (if applicable). If the total accumulated money transfer amount made by all credit cards mentioned in credit card account type above (based on the transaction date) exceeds HK$25,000 per Cardholder in a month, a 3.5% handling fee will be applied to the transferred amount beyond HK$25,000 and this handling fee will be debited to the valid Credit Card account with the highest transferred amount. If the last day of a calendar month is Sunday, any related transactions made on that day will be counted in the following calendar month.

    Select “Mobile Wallets” in left hand menu -> “Top up/Payment History”

  • Login to Standard Chartered Online Banking
    Select “Mobile Wallets” in left hand menu -> “Alipay HK” -> “Top up Alipay Account” -> “Action” -> “Delete”
    Click “Confirm” for deletion of Alipay Account

  • Any transfer / top up transaction from Standard Chartered / MANHATTAN Credit Card(s) to the Alipay®HK Account will not be entitled to any reward(s) earning including but not limited to 360° Rewards Point(s), bonus point(s), CashBack, mile(s).

  • In case of loss of mobile phone, you can log in to your account via another device and then disconnect the access between your account and the lost device. The touch login feature will also be disabled immediately when another user logs into SC Mobile on the same device using a different set of Username and Password, or after consecutive failures of fingerprint login attempts (6 times for iOS or 5 times for Android).   • You can login to SC Mobile to go to “Settings” and select “Daily Limit Maintenance” or our Online Banking to go to “My Preferences” and select “Daily Limit Maintenance”, to update the daily aggregated transfer limit* to online registered third party payees.

    *The aggregated total for telegraphic transfers, transfer to SCBHK 3rd party, non-registered payee, other local banks and bill payment is HKD1,000,000.
